My artwork is a journey. I started painting decades ago, and returned to pursue it seriously in recent years.
I paint Ontario because it's my home, and there are so many wonderful subjects I can find without going too far. My inspiration continues to be unchanged; I’ve always loved nature, and I’ve spent many hours admiring sunrises, sunsets, lake views, treetops, mountains and valleys, just being in awe of the Creator I believe in. It’s beautiful to me, so I strive to imitate my impressions of landscape and skies to create beautiful things too. Do we ever question why we find nature beautiful?
I’m also fascinated by the challenge of adding humans to my landscapes in different settings, emulating the culture and life moments I’ve observed and participated in, while living in this region. I’ve found that a landscape scene can become more meaningful when people are present in the image. I enjoy how colours work together to create emotion, and try to use bold strong hues where I see fit. In my current phase, I'm also enjoying working with textured media to my acrylic paint to create impasto art.
I hope my exhibition inspires you to take time to enjoy the little moments of life and preserve the beauty of them in your memories. Do my works evoke a memory of youth? A fascination that we may still have?
"Beautiful exhibition of artwork! The colours draw you into each scene and the textures transport you to the time as if you are experiencing them in real life. From afar, each painting gives the essence of an emotion that is personal to each viewer. The details in the small paintings that are expanded in the larger versions serve to provide a completely different experience! Well done! Worth the visit to the club to check these out in person! "I love all of these paintings because they give me the sort of vibe that they’ve been based off of core memories; something you didn’t want to forget, so you beautifully immortalized them in the form of this art. Breathtaking/10" ~anonymous
