Lake Muskoka (8x10)
This acrylic painting, loosely based on a photo I took while hiking in Algonquin Park a few years ago, is a result of a new direction taken in my art practice, using the palette knife for for the majority of the composition. It made me think about why reflections are so peaceful and meditative, and why the flowing images in motion can be so interesting to marvel at.
Creating this piece, I experimented with texture to convey motion how shapes flow into each other when observed from a distance and brought in hints of yellow to show how the placement of brighter colour can affect the feeling of happiness in the whole piece.
