Sounds of Muskoka at Sunset (16x20)
This painting is based loosely on a photo I took while at Algonquin Park a few years ago. It was an idea with the image of the treeline silhouette and clouds to be almost like soundwaves sitting over the water. From afar, you perceive the stillness of the forest. Closer, hear the sounds of water rippling on the shore, wind rustling leaves, squirrels chattering on tree branches, chipmunks scuttling along the forest floor, and bluejays screeching far atop the trees. Are you energized by the stillness from afar or by the sounds of life close by?
